Simon Says Stamp August Kit

Hello and welcome to my blog!

Today’s card was made from remnants of Simon’s Says Stamp’s August Kit, called Retro Wishes. I had already made several cards I made from the kit, so I had started to branch out a little with my product choices. Details for all the products are below, with links where possible.

The paper, Lovely Blooms by Pink Fresh Studios, came in the kit. There are some beautiful patterns in that paper pack. I trimmed it down and ran it through a Spellbinder’s embossing Folder called Diamond Plaid. I love that pattern! It offers so much texture without distracting too much from the paper itself.

The greeting was cut from scraps, using Altenew’s Versatile Greetings die set. This set is my current favorite for sentiments. It’s chunky enough to get your attention without hogging the whole card front. I felt that the pink cardstock scrap I had chosen for the “Happy Birthday” was a little light, so I colored it with Copic marker RV13 (Tender Pink) to give it a little more pop.

Then I pulled out some random jewels and used one as the tilde on the I. Then I scattered several smaller jewels around the front of the card. I think this card has a lot of nice texture without stacking up numerous layers of cardstock or embellishments.

I’m still learning to take pictures, and I hope I’ll continue to improve quickly and give you something nice to look at.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I appreciate you!
